The Legendary Highway 61

Check back here in early 2008 for "Highway 61 Visited," when The Blues Man visits the legendary Cross Road, where highways 61 and 49 meet in the Mississippi Delta. The Blues Man is also a poet (see his poetry at http://www.paulheidelberg.com/ ) and a novelist (his novel CHASING FREEDOM is available at http://www.amazon.com/ and at other Internet venues and brick and motor bookstores).

The Blues Man will be searching Mississippi for the spirits of such blues greats as Elmore James, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Bessie Smith and Muddy Waters (McKinley Morganfield).

The Blues Man has been fortunate to catch live performances by such blues greats as John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Sam Hopkins, Albert King, B.B. King, Mance Lipscomb, Charlie Musselwhite and Big Mama Thornton.
